Stitching Projects, Visitors and Thrift Shop Treasures

Hello everyone,

It has been a good while since I have updated, but I have been busy!  First, I had two of my best 'stitchy' friends visit the second week of June!  Karen and Tim arrived on the 8th and my BFF Laura came in on the 9th.  Karen is one of my stitchers and moderators in my stitch group, ESC.  I first met Karen and her hubby Tim in Branson, last November at the Stitch Retreat put on my Cecilias Sampler.  Laura and I have been friends for almost 59 years now; YES, we grew up together, went to school together, were in each other's weddings, are godparents to each others children and so on......yada yada yada! lol  We had a great time; the girls helped to organize my charts, etc......they got a lot done, but there is so much more to do........that Friday we went to Williamsburg to the Haus Tirol (Wishing Well) LNS, LUNCH, Hancock Fabric, and then the new Joannes at Newtown Center.  They guys spent that day fishing at the OcenView Fishing Pier in Portsmouth.  All in all we had a great time!  I know that I do miss them terribly, but will see them again in October, at the PALS Retreat in Myrtle Beach, SC, held by Amy at Down Sunshine Lane.

Now, here are two pillows that I stitched for my friends Carol and Chris:
The horse pillow is for Chris who lives on a farm and has two horses of her own; the Bluebird pillow is a Spring Stitched Exchange for my friend Carol.  Hope she likes it!

Next, ia a small picture for my friend CC (my Joy); I thought this suited her perfectly; small but profound.
This framed piece I gave to my friend Karen, when she visited.  It is so appropriately called, 'Stitched with Love'........  Last, on the stitching front is my June Owl SAL for the OakHaven Design  group.

Last Saturday, I did some bargain hunting at the local thrift stores.  This is what I came up with! LOL

First, I found some stitched pieces in frames that were in good condition; plus the stitching was nice.  I don't know what I will do with it, but someone put a lot of work into these pieces.  The frames were all priced at $1.25, so could not pass them up!  See what you think...............

The last treasure I found, was meant to be a burner for tea candles; however, the metal lid had eight holes that were perfect to my scissors.  In fact, they were brand new; selling also for $1.25 a piece.  I got one for myself and one for my BFF Laura.
Well, stitching friends and all my fellow bloggers, that is it for now; stay tuned for more finishes.  I am almost finished another UFO of a small reproduction sampler taken from the Baltimore Quilt Album.  Being a 'Baltimorean' I loved stitching this piece.  I also have some Christmas ornaments to finish off, so they should be on my next update!  Until next time..................happy stitching!!!!
