Hi to all my stitching friends. I was at my friend Meari's blog this morning and she was inquiring as to how we store our floss!
Actually, I have tried several methods over the years, but now, I store mine in Stanley cabinets, the ones you find in the hardware section of Walmart. The drawers are the perfect length, and I use the small color stick-on dots to indicate what color numbers are in each drawer. I usually store about six colors in each one; however, I am debating whether to get more cabinets and thin out the colors. Sometimes I have several of one color and the drawer becomes full quickly! LOL..............
How do you store your threads?
All of my specialty threads are stored in plastic, see through shoe boxes labeled on the top of each box; I have full sets of GAST, WDW, CC, Carrie's Creations. I love using the hand-dyed threads.

Sorry about the Rolling Rock box on top!!! LOL
That is full of DMC also that has not been stored just yet.
I also have a shoebox full of Threadworx, another one of my favorite specialty threads.
You have your floss organized really well too! If it works for you, why change it? :)
You seem to have a good system. I am in process of switching my extra floss. The floss I'm using goes on bobbins and then in a Mary Maxim case (they quit making years ago). Extra floss is going into a rolling plastic file we bought at Jo Ann's last week and then in a picture container. Each drawer holds 8 picture containers and the floss fits in nicely.
I see containers similar to what I use!!!
That big thing is full of dmc?!?!!?
wow!!!
Actually, it is two cabinets; I have them stacked one on top of the other. I want Butch to attach them to the wall for me so they are easier to access.
Thanks ladies for the nice comments! I probably won't change Meari, but I do like the idea of the bobbins also.
I just recently acquired the entire set of Anchor floss.....I may wind those onto bobbins, so I can tell them apart from the others.
wow! Feeling really jealous here as i don't have that much of a collection. I like your idea though in boxes. I'd rather not put it on a bobbin boxes, only the DMC that was cut or needed for present projects.
Mylene, we can take care of that......!!!!! Whenever there is a good sale at Joann's I am going to be sure to add to your thread stash!!! LOL
great storage.
