First Finish of 2011

Yesterday I finished the first ornament in the yearly ornament stitch-a-long with my group ESC; Every Stitch Counts.

The Gingerbread Man was the first of the ornament kits I have received from Cecilia's Samplers, which I signed on for while in Branson, at their stitching retreat.

I have yet to finish off the ornament; am still deciding how I want to do this; I am new at finishing, so I want to be sure of what I want to do and take my time doing it! lol

He does have two tiny gold beads for buttons on his vest that are very hard to see!

A Nice Surprise from Chris and Ken

DH Butch and I celebrated our 46th anniversary on January 9th; good friends Chris and Ken sent us this gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

Thanks guys!  You are too sweet.  Chris is one of my 'bestest' stitching buddies too!  She is one of the fastest and best stitchers in the mid-west!

Update on Angel of Cross Stitch SAL

Hi everyone; Last weekend, I stitched a little on my AOCS in which I am doing a SAL with a couple of other ladies.  I will be stitching on her certain weekends out of the month, and then moving on to another SAL, which I will post a progress of later in the week.

I am also just about finished the stitching on my first ornament in the 2011 Ornament SAL in my group, ESC.  I signed up while in Branson at Cecilia's Samplers for her year of ornaments.  This one is for January.  Stay tuned for an update.  I have decided how I will finish this one off, so that will come later.

Here is the Angel:  not much done, but this is HUGE!

Lots of Stitching Goals for 2011

I have made up quite a list of stitching goals for this year; my theme is Country.  I love such designers as LHN, Jeremiah Junction, Linda Myers and many more.  I also love to stitch Quaker designs.  I may even incorporate a few of these into my year of stitching, along with some UFO's.

I am also taking part in a few SALs....one is an ornament SAL on my stitch group, ESC, two on another one of my groups; one is houses, and the other is a Scavenger Hunt SAL.  On the second weekend of each month a few of us ladies are stitching on the Angel of Cross Stitch.  I do have her started, but that is about it for now.

My first project is Prairie Schooler, whom I forgot to mention is probably my very favortie designer.  I am working on the Winter Sampler on the chart called Country Sampler.  I did the Spring Sampler in 2010.

I hope everyone will enjoy keeping track of what I stitch this year!

This piece is the first 'third' I have completed.  I divided this sampler into three parts.  I will stitch on this one again next week.

Enjoy!
